The Founders:
Blanche & Stan Roberts
Stan and Blanche grew up in San Angelo, Texas, and were high school sweethearts. When WWII called, Stan served with distinction as a B17 Bombardier, flying dangerous missions over Germany. On April 29, 1944, his aircraft was shot down. He and his crew bailed out under enemy fire and were captured by the Germans. Stan spent the next year as a Prisoner of War until his liberation on April 29, 1945, in Moosberg, Germany.
Upon his return, Stan married Blanche and earned his degree in Latin American History and Economics from Texas A&I while working on the King Ranch. He went on to become the #1 salesman at Tyler Pipe & Foundry during the 1950s and 1960s, building an unmatched reputation in the industry.
Building a Legacy
In the late 1960s, as plastics revolutionized the industry, Stan saw an opportunity. He founded Stan Roberts & Associates, Inc. to supply wholesale distributors with PVC pipe and fittings. Early years were desperate; the company nearly went bankrupt.
The turning point came when Blanche joined the company. While Stan made the sales calls, Blanche managed the finances with unmatched skill and precision. Her business acumen and dedication saved the company and fueled its growth. Stan and Blanche then brought their four children into the business—Toby, Gary, Carl, and Melinda.
Today, Stan Roberts & Associates continues to embody the values they instilled: honest communication with manufacturers, unwavering dedication to customers, and devotion to employees. Their legacy lives on through every transaction, every delivery, and every relationship.
